This "out-of-the-way hillside lodge" is on 1,000 acres of rain forest. Guests are invited to play soccer with, and read to, the students of a nearby primary school funded by the resort. "Staff are always very engaged." Rustic design follows green practices and employs renewable materials; thatched-roof bungalows have solar-heated water and bamboo furnishings and towels. Brisa Azul's signature drink, the Chimi Cas, is made with lemon and guava.
