Lapa Rios Lodge
Corcovado National Park by Boat

Arriving by boat transforms the journey itself into part of the experience. Dolphins often escort the ride. Sea turtles surface unexpectedly. The rainforest rises directly from the Pacific Ocean, untouched and impossibly green. Then, you step ashore and walk into one of the most biologically intense places on Earth. A full-day expedition through pristine rainforest, guided by expert naturalists, with wildlife encounters around every corner.

THE JOURNEY

The Adventure Begins Before You Reach the Forest

Your adventure begins aboard a boat cruising along the breathtaking Osa Peninsula coastline. Keep watch for dolphins, sea turtles, rays, and seasonal humpback whales as lush rainforest meets the Pacific in one of Costa Rica’s most spectacular landscapes. Long before you reach Corcovado, the journey itself becomes an unforgettable wildlife experience.

BY BOAT

An Arrival Unlike Any Other

After a scenic 45-minute drive to Puerto Jiménez, your expedition continues aboard a private boat. During the 90-minute cruise to Sirena Ranger Station, the Pacific Ocean and the wild Osa coastline become part of the adventure, with opportunities to spot dolphins, sea turtles, rays, and seasonal humpback whales along the way

THE WILDLIFE

Nature at Every Turn

Wildlife accompanies you from sea to rainforest. Watch for dolphins and seasonal humpback whales during the boat journey, then discover Baird’s tapirs, scarlet macaws, monkeys, coatis, and hundreds of bird species inside Corcovado National Park. Every expedition is unique.

THE PARK

One of Earth’s Richest Ecosystems

The world-renowned Corcovado National Park is one of the most biologically rich places on the planet, home to 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity. It covers over 47,000 hectares and is home to some of the rarest wildlife in Central America; including jaguars, peccaries, tapirs, and more than 450 species of birds. Nearly 700 plant and tree species have been identified here.
