Corcovado National Park by Boat
The world-renowned Corcovado National Park is one of the most biologically rich places on the planet, home to 2.5% of the world's biodiversity. It covers over 47,000 hectares and is home to some of the rarest wildlife in Central America; including jaguars, peccaries, tapirs, and more than 450 species of birds. Nearly 700 plant and tree species have been identified here.
You'll be taken by car to Puerto Jiménez, a 45-minute drive, where you'll board a private boat for a 1-hour-and-30-minute ride into the heart of Corcovado National Park, arriving at the Sirena Ranger Station for this full-day guided tour.
Along the way, you'll have chances of spotting dolphins and if you're lucky you might even spot whales.
Ninety Minutes on the Pacific
The boat follows the Osa coastline south from Puerto Jiménez. There is no road that covers this ground. What happens on the crossing varies. Some groups spend the full ninety minutes with dolphins. Others spot a whale. The ocean does what it does, and the guide watches for it.
