As you paddle or swim, you’ll see the water light up with every movement, a reaction caused by microscopic organisms in the ocean.
While bioluminescence can happen in many coastal areas, it’s not always visible. This tour takes you to a bay where high concentrations occur regularly, offering a reliable and impressive experience.
How It Works
Bioluminescence is caused by microscopic organisms in the water that emit light when disturbed by movement.
The effect is visible to the naked eye: every stroke of a paddle and every movement through the water produces a flash of cold blue light.
The tour visits a specific bay where concentrations are reliably high. It is not available during full moon, when ambient light reduces the effect.
