Snorkeling in Caño Island
Isla del Caño is a protected biological reserve located 15 kilometers offshore, covering approximately 200 hectares.
It was officially declared a reserve by the Costa Rican government in 1976 and remains one of the country’s most important marine conservation areas. The surrounding waters are rich with marine life, offering pristine conditions for snorkeling.
This is a full-day experience designed for ocean lovers and explorers. After a two-hour drive to Drake Bay, you’ll board a boat and cruise out to the reserve.
Snorkel alongside colorful reef fish, rays, and, with a bit of luck, sea turtles or reef sharks.
