Golfo Dulce Boat Tour
Leave Puerto Jiménez and head straight out across the gulf. It’s open water, and it’s common to come across dolphins on the way. During certain months, whales pass through as well.
Once you reach the other side, the boat slows down and begins following the coastline. From the water, the view is completely different: the forest drops straight into the gulf and small waterfalls descend from the mountains.
There is time to stop, swim, and snorkel in a few of these spots along the way.
Two Landscapes in One Journey
If the tide is right, the boat enters the Esquinas River and the landscape changes almost immediately.
The open waters of the gulf give way to still channels, with mangroves lining both sides as the journey continues inland through the estuary.
It is a striking transition between two very different environments, each revealing another side of the wildlife and landscapes of the Golfo Dulce.
