There are seven species of sea turtles in the world and all of them are considered threatened or endangered due to poaching, predation, habitat disturbance and degradation, and in-water threats.
The world’s sea turtle population is incredibly susceptible to human and environmental threats and is in urgent need of global protection. Help us protect and save our local sea turtles by releasing recently hatched babies into the sea.
The hatching season is at its peak between July and December, but the hatchery is active all year round and visits can be arranged to learn more about the conservation of these incredible reptiles.
A Year-Round Program
This partner-operated tour focuses on sea turtle conservation at a local hatchery, where guests may participate in releasing recently hatched sea turtles into the ocean.
The hatchery operates throughout the year, while the main hatching season reaches its peak between July and December.
The experience offers a closer look at the conservation work helping protect these vulnerable marine species along the Osa Peninsula.
